JORDAN the country,bordering Israel
Once in 2011 as i was travelling to India my final destination(that was my 2nd or 3rd trip to Kolkata West Bengal)i arranged for tickets to Delhi(by train to Kolkata from it later)via the capital of Jordan Amman city. The idea was that(i developed the topic via internet beforehands)plane ticket to Delhi would cost be around 90 $ less than they would cost me via israeli airport near Tel Aviv.ALL it took as i found out via internet would be for me to get to Amman by local transport, both israeli and, then, also local jordanian 1.Indeed as the future told me,gained around 50 $ by this manipulation as around 40 $ i lost while entering Jordan(20 $ the entire entrance expense with NO OTHER COMPLICATIONS at all,all paid up upon the border entrance spot).I got to the border first via the local buses' lines that took me 1)Haifa-Afula,then 2)Afula-Bet Shemesh(a very small israeli town close to Jordan),then to the border itself by the well known in Bet Shemesh taxi service(it took me like 1 to 2 hours to get to the border from the Bet Shemesh itself). The crossing point between Israel and Jordan is fully equipped with whatever 1 needs, but right out of it you get this interesting impression that you just left what DOES matter to travel through what does NOT for a while;they had may be 5 or so desirees other than myself to cross the bporder at that moment. The airport in Amman(i entered Jordan in the early evening of a day to fly out of the Amman airport the next day right after midday)is SO much less effective/specialized than the main israeli airport by Tel Aviv is,but then the 90 $ i gained by this detour via unimpressive at the most territories were worth the expense.Amman is much in the style of Jerusalem the israeli capital, just that the weird details that surround oldest structures and are THE main element to attract foreighn tourists are SO much less extravagamt in Amman than they are in Jerusalem(i was in this israeli capital only once with a tourist group as i only entered Israel as a new citizen in 1997);however the tarrain in Amman is JUST as hilly/slopy as the Jerusalem and Haifa are;population a little smaller than the Haifa 1 is and in each respect even Haifa, which is by no means the main israeli city,is looking more populous/impressive by many standards than Amman the jordanian capital is.As i was travelling from the border via a normal taxi,i noted a lot of difference their capital Amman holds over completely unimpressive by character not only smaller cities(was passing through in 1),but especially the mostly nonexistant villagelike territories the jordanian province certainly contains.Amman city holds mostly newer buildings i would guess were built in the world boom times of around 1960;older ones are very rare and mostly are anscient looking pretty nicely built and very old impressive mosques the muslim religion worship spots.Hilly/slopy as Haifa and Jerusalem both are,Amman is both less dirty/flocked with dirty details, clean to weirdness and less nicely managed.I researched it from Israel, found online a nice small hotel, gave the taxi driver its name, was there for a night, and next midday was upon my plane to Delhi, from which i then travelled via indian trains to Kolkata for 2 days or more.Lots of people do indian trains hold;never saw THIS many travelling people than India has upon its railroads.
