DVANDVA ARDHA VIPARITA KARANI
This pose is a SO much easier performed 1 than what we see in yoga books as Viparita Karani(what i myself and other yoga sources call the Paripurna pose); The reality of our contemporary life is we cannot perform complicated poses and even despise people performing them;while performing/doing yoga even incorrectly greatly decreases the quantity of say heart strokes in our common population;not to mention other health complications. HOW TO DO Lay down face upwards by a wall, which is closest to your legs/toes and furthest from your head. Now pick the legs up and position them upon the wall, best making a vertical like/touching the wall with ALL the legs' parts, but might be up to 45 degrees too.Stay in it till able to,returning to lay down/relax for a while before resuming normal activities.Another,a bit harder variation 1 should be attempting to perform(in case Paripurna Viparita Karani, what each yoga book shows, might be too hard for you),is when you have both of your legs vertically pointing upwards even with no wall to support them;then, having your arms support the entire weight your body holds from each of the sides, point this entire weight leftwards, till able to hold the weight, and later rightwards, again till tired only.Fat/heavy/unhealthy individuals will be having problems even with THIS very simple variation of Viparita Karani pose;however they must know that this simple exercise will cure them of heart conditions in case they perform this Dvandva Ardha Viparita Karani pose regularly.Stronger in this(other too)senses as regular Viparita Karani certainly is,this Ardha pose, being though for beginners, can indeed improve the heart and cardiovascular system in general for even people with no sportive inclinations;poses i can do(am a seasoned yogi by now after numerous years in the art)act the very same way as this pose does;but it IS hard to perform them;while such simpler poses as this 1 lead us to the very same effect of general improvement in our cardiovascular(simply speaking, blood and heart connected)systems-1 thing our society completely fails us to find in this overly active age. What a person DOES need nowadays even as not realizing this is some sort of heart/blood exercises;the persentage of heart connected deaths(largest killer of people nowadays as statistics claim)would fall dramatically if such minor heart exercises as this 1 would be practised daily by people.
